Los Angeles, CA – Volcano Produce™ will be showcasing the Goldenberry™, also known as Physalis Peruviana, at the 2014 Produce Marketing Associations (PMA) Fresh Summit. Visitors to the Volcano Produce™ booth will have the opportunity to sample the Goldenberry™ and learn more about company’s organic produce line, which is available year-round and includes cucumbers (all varieties), grape tomatoes, green onions, cabbage, carrots, radishes and Brussels sprouts.

Imported from South America, the Goldenberry™ is high in protein, offers a number of vitamins and minerals and is a delicious source of bioflavonoids. It has a multitude of health-benefiting nutritional elements, including polyphenols, which carry anti-inflammatories and antioxidants. With an astonishing 45% of the daily-recommended allowance of vitamin A in just one ounce, the Goldenberry™ also contributes to healthy eyes and skin. This superfood contains 445 milligrams of vitamin C per 100 grams–compared to an apple, which only contains 6 milligrams of vitamin C per 100 grams. Other nutrients in the Goldenberry™ include vitamin C, vitamin B, fiber, phosphorus, iron, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin and ascorbic acid.

Visitors, press and industry members can stop by Volcano Produce™ at Booth # 4652 to find out more information about the Goldenberry™ and the company’s many produce offerings.

One of these new exhibitors was Volcano Produce, a ten-year-old  grower, shipper and importer of certified organic produce. They also import exotic fruits from Latin America and are the largest importers of GoldenBerries (sometimes known as Cape Gooseberries). A bona fide superfood loaded with vitamins and antioxidants, these members of the nightshade family look like tomatillos with a papery shell resembling a part-open umbrella." ...
